Multicast Issue with 2012 r2 cu1

Recommended Posts

Hello let me first start off with my environment. 2 servers one setup as Primary and the other as Site System Server(Just Distribution Point Role, Site System and Component Server) Primary Dell PowerEdge Server 710, Win 2008 r2, raid 6, 24gb, SQL on server and we upgraded from sp1 to r2 cu1. Second server is a dell laptop running with Sever 2012 r2( I know your going to ask why) I work at a school district and we use it as a portable Imaging server due to issues multicasting to campuses. . I can unicast without any issues its just multicast fails. I cannot even multicast on the same Vlan with SCCM R2, on Cisco switch we setup multicast and I know it works with Ghost on same Vlan just not across yet but we are working on that issue to.

I have checked distribute package to package share and checked transfer via winpe all packages in task sequence and on the wim I also set only transfer via winpe.

I have tried updating the DP from all packages and Operating System Images still same error Attached via Image and .log

I would appreciate any insight on what I am doing wrong or any tips thank you

Mjalden1,

I am experiencing the same issue. I see that this is an older post and that there is no reply to your request for help but I am wondering if you were able to find a solution. Hoping you will get some notification of this post being that it is so old. I have searched for solutions to this problem and haven't found any siting the same issue let alone a solution. I also work in a K-12 school district and have WAN links to multiple buildings that makes imaging unicast extremely slow. Anty help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
