Applying updates to only select group of computer not all production computers

I'm looking to push an update out but only to a certain group of computers, say ten computers, but I do not want to push this particular update out to the rest of his environment. I just wants those ten computers to have this update. Is that at all possible? I'm thinking collection base, but not sure how to tackle this.

You're correct. Simply create a collection that only contains those ten clients and target the updates to that collection.

How about uninstalling certain patch/s from a small group of 10 client machines, but having the rest of the production environment still have that particular patch installed on the other clients in production. Then keeping that particular patch off the small group of 10 client machines the next time those machines check in

Funny thing is that there is no buildin functionality to uninstall certain patches. To uninstall an update, you need to create a custom package, with a command line to uninstall that specific update.
