Having a problem with pxe booting Error code: 0xc0000098

Recommended Posts

Hello All and thanks in advanced for your help.

I have sccm 2012 set up and it was working great for over a year until now.

after a restart the server booted fine but when i try to image a computer after it contacts tftp I get a blue screen which says:

recovery

your pc needs to be repaired.

File:\Tmp\x86x64...etc.bcd

Error Code: 0xc0000098

I tried readding the boot image and I tried reinstalling wds but still no luck still getting that blue screen error.
on my events I see wds event 57347 Microsoft-Windows-Deployment-Services-Diagnostics

"The PXE server processed a request from a client of architecture x86x64. However there were no boot images installed for this architecture....

Any suggestions?

Thanks

probably missing network drivers and rebooting, what hardware are you booting, is it legacy mode or uefi mode, have you added any network drivers for that hardware to your boot wim as described in this post.

Thanks for the link,

I am getting some progress now. I was able to boot up until the sccm windows where it says system configuration is starting up.

I deleted all my boot images and created a new one.

Will check all the drivers and add if it needs one.

Will let you know.

Thanks

ok so this is what I did and still no luck.

I deleted any boot images that were on the sccm,

added a new one and checked all nic drivers where there.

distributed the image

tried to boot but it wasn't finding the pxe boot.

I then added the boot image on the wds management under boot images.

test computer was able to boot but now it goes to a blue screen with no error but it has the command prompt open:

X:\Windows\system32>wpeinit

X:\Windows\system32>

any suggestions?

Thanks
