Applications don't install - Past Due - will be installed

I have a handful of applications that have the status "past due - will be installed" that don't install until I select them and click on install. Any idea why they don't install automatically? What logs should I check to see why this is happening?

Do you have a maintenance window define for the collection? You may also want want to make sure they deployment type is set to Required and potentially set a deadline behavior if you don't have a maintenance window defined for the collection.

There aren't any maintenance windows defined. The deployment is set to "as soon as possible" and software installation is set to happen outside the maintenance window when the deadline is reached.

what does the log says ? enforcement.log,appintent log ? are there are hurdles before the application get installed ? check this post if that helps with the setting: http://3techies.com/?p=83

I fixed it. I had to change the re-evaluation schedule in the client settings. I changed it from 7 days to 3 days. Thanks for the help everyone.
