MagnumVP Posted September 23, 2014 Report post Posted September 23, 2014 We have a single SCCM 2012 Site and 6 borders. Each boarder has it's only software unc that is unique to that location where local software can be deployed from. (i.e. \\site1dfs\software or \\site2dfs\software...etc) Is it possible to deploy an application to a particular AD site that pulls from the local UNC? wilbywilson Posted September 24, 2014 Report post Posted September 24, 2014 I'm not sure I fully understand your question, but I think what you're asking about would be accomplished through an SCCM Distribution Point. Do you have a Distribution Point installed in each of your 6 offices? If so, make sure the SCCM boundaries are configured for each office. Then, when you distribute an SCCM application out to the distribution points, clients within that site are "smart" enough to grab the content locally. You don't need to mess with UNC paths or DFS; an SCCM Distribution Point removes those complexities. Make sense?
MagnumVP Posted September 24, 2014 Report post Posted September 24, 2014 Thank you. I'm sorry I wasn't more clear. Yes that is what I was referring to. I wanted to make sure that the content would be located in the DP and not a UNC location on a local server.
wilbywilson Posted September 24, 2014 Report post Posted September 24, 2014 Correct, the content will be on the local distribution point, and clients will not have to traverse the WAN when getting the source files.
