Search Folder for Updates NOT requiring reboots...

Hello,

Recently while I was monitoring the patches being pushed over the course of a late night maintenance window, I had the thought of how nice it would be to push updates that did not require reboots outside of the maintenance periods. Has anyone ever build a Search Folder spefically for updates NOT requiring reboots?

I think not, because that is not something you can search on with the Search Folders...

you could specify in the custom severity field that it's LOW for example and search for that

 

but then you'd have to do a lot of manual work deciding which updates were 'LOW', however I did a quick test and it seems to work

 

see pic, the update in the pic may require a reboot but I marked the custom severity of it under the All Windows XP Updates search folder as LOW for this test, then created a new search folder as you can see below

I have made some good progress on this. I have identified that in fact there is a source from which the reboot information for all updates can be derived. That being said, its going to be a feat to create the mechanism to tie it all together.
