Move CM12 Site to a New Domain

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I need some guidlines on how to move a CM12 site to a new domain. I have one virtual Server 2008 R2 x64 with both CM12 and SQL 2008. I have read that it is not supported to migrate a CM12 site to a new domain. So what is the best way to move my primary site and dp:s?

I suspect that i need to set up a new server on the new domain and install a fresh copy of CM12. But how do I migrate all my packages, Collections and so forth?

Any advice would really be appreciated!! What is the best way to move a primary site and 2 dp:s to a new domain?

Thanks

regards /Pernilla

welcome to the forums ! :-)

here's a guide to help with Migrations, and it now works from CM12 > CM12 which should solve your issue

Thanks Niall! Hope ure well :-)

So the migration tool within CM12 works for migrating between CM12 sites. Great :-). But is it possible to migrate using the migration tool between domains?

Is my plan to set up a new server in the new domain and install a fresh copy of CM12 and then migrate from my other CM12 site (in the old domain) going to work? And is this the best way to move a site to a new domain?

Thanks

Regards Pernilla
