simulacra75 Posted October 3, 2014 Report post Posted October 3, 2014 Hi there I'm looking for some advice. I currently have CM12 SP1 CU3 installed in our environment using MDT 2012 integrated with CM12. All is working just fine and we use a combination of UDI and MDT Task sequences to deploy our OSes. I was thinking about upgrading to MDT 2013 but i'm just wondering if it's actually "worth" it? Is it possible to have MDT 2012 and MDT 2013 running simultaneously on my CM12 CAS/PRI? If i cannot run them simultaneously how can i ensure that replacing MDT 2012 with 2013 won't screw up the existing scripts/tweaks that are already in place? Your thoughts are appreciated. Peter van der Woude Posted October 4, 2014 Report post Posted October 4, 2014 You can run the packages created for MDT 2012 and MDT 2013 simultatneously, but only one version can be installed and integrated with ConfigMgr. dooty22 Posted October 7, 2014 Report post Posted October 7, 2014 what extra functionality does integrating mdt actually give you ?
Peter van der Woude Posted October 7, 2014 Report post Posted October 7, 2014 It gives you the ability to use the MDT scripts in an easy way via the console. Basically it creates a console extention for creating custom MDT bootimages and it gives you extra task sequence steps.
Oneone Posted October 8, 2014 Report post Posted October 8, 2014 If you watch this vid, you will get a pritty good idea why integration should be mandatory http://www.microsoftvirtualacademy.com/training-courses/windows-8-1-deployment-jump-start#?fbid=FgJn0_hEAR3
