afterhourz Posted October 6, 2014 Report post Posted October 6, 2014 Hi everyone, Can I deploy Windows 8.1 x64 to a Surface Pro 3 without an Intune subscription/enrollment and only SCCM 2012 R2? I think I found my answer, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682077.aspx#BKMK_Win2k12SiteSystemPrereqs, but I'm just trying to confirm this as I haven't been able to find a simple blurb that just comes out and says this. I'm seeing the Surface Pro 3 chassis type comes back as a handheld which makes this a mobile device and not a laptop, right? I tried pushing a 2012 R2 client to the Surface Pro 3 and it did not install and I believe it might be because the chassis type means the Surface Pro 3 falls under "modern mobile device." -Afterhourz
TAiNiUM Posted October 6, 2014 Report post Posted October 6, 2014 Yes I am deploying 8.1 x64 Enterprise to our Surface Pro 3 using only SCCM 2012 R2 CU2.
Peter van der Woude Posted October 6, 2014 Report post Posted October 6, 2014 It's about the operating system running on the device. The Surface Pro 3 runs Windows 8(.1 Update) and that's a fully supported operating system for ConfigMgr.
