Damien Posted November 12, 2014 Report post Posted November 12, 2014 Hi Could you please tell me whats the best way to upgrade the config manager client with the CU3 update during the OSD? I followed this guide but it didn't work. the task sequence fails at the "Apply Image " step. http://deploymentramblings.wordpress.com/2013/08/22/installing-configmgr-2012-sp1-cu2-during-osd/
Judical Posted November 12, 2014 Report post Posted November 12, 2014 You don't update Config Manager until after the Image is applied so that need to be working first.I assume you already have a task sequence setup for OSD. Just ignore the first half of that guide and start where he copies the update then applies in the config manager step.

Peter van der Woude Posted November 12, 2014 Report post Posted November 12, 2014 You can use the PATCH parameter to update the client during the task sequence.
Damien Posted November 13, 2014 Report post Posted November 13, 2014 can I use something like this in the "setting up Config manager client" step in the client install properties? PATH="\\FQDN\its\SCCM\PackageShare\Library\Pkgs\Microsoft\ConfigMgr R2 CU3 Client\Client\Patch\x64\configmgr2012ac-r2-kb2994331-x64.msp
Peter van der Woude Posted November 13, 2014 Report post Posted November 13, 2014 If the machine account has access to that share location, then yes. Otherwise make sure the patch is part of your client package and refer to the local location.
