thugusher Posted December 1, 2014 Report post Posted December 1, 2014 We are Looking to deploy SCCM 2012 R2 onto a Windows 2003 domain, to facilitate deployment of Windows 2008 R2 server and also Windows 7 desktops. Checking compatibility matrices, it shows: 1) SCCM 2012 is ok on a Windows 2003 domain 2) SCCM 2012 requires a minimum of Server 2008 (We'll be opting for 2008 R2). Question: There's a "schema update for SCCM 2012" ... is this "optional" and will provide "non-core benefits", or is it mandatory schema update?? Thanks in advance guys. GarthMJ Posted December 1, 2014 Report post Posted December 1, 2014 No it is not mandatory but it is recommended. BTW, you should go for Windows 2012 for your server not Win2k8R2.
