amlederer Posted December 4, 2014 Report post Posted December 4, 2014 Currently we use SCCM 2012 to manage all windows updates. We would like to continue to use SCCM to manage updates on Desktops but would like to use standard auto updates for laptops for various reasons. What is the best way to accomplish this. We would still use SCCM for package/application deployment to the laptops.
Jorgen Nilsson Posted December 4, 2014 Report post Posted December 4, 2014 Hi, With normal autoupdates I assume Windows Update directly in this case? Then create a Collection with all the laptops and create a custom client setting that turns of the SCCM managing the Software Updates and deploy that to the collection with the laptops, then the laptops will start using Windows Update again. amlederer Posted December 4, 2014 Report post Posted December 4, 2014 Perfect. That is what I have done. I did also have to go into the registry as it was holding the SCCM address in the WSUS locations
