OmegaApex Posted December 19, 2014 Report post Posted December 19, 2014 Hello all, I have been using SCCM 2012 R2 for about 6 months now for OS deployment. I have created task sequences for (Techs - Barebones/New) and a few refresh task sequences (W7 and W8). For the tech sequence I use a UDI so they can choose apps, os version, etc. but for the refresh I just advertised the refresh ts to the appropriate os selection (ex: w7x64 and w81x64 collections). I have a password on each task sequence so it can't be launched accidentally or by a click happy tech but what would really love to do is create a HTA menu that all they do is select the picture. So basically (New Computer) - (Refresh Admin) - (Refresh Other) The issue I have run into is the new computer one should be easy because i advertised that sequence to all systems (pw protected) but the other 2 (or actually 4) are advertised to a Windows 7 x64 and windows 8.1 x64 collection. Is there a way to dynamically assign the correct OS when a user selects the "picture" and inputs the password or disclaimer? Basically have the HTA know which OS was on the machine based upon what collection the computer is in. lot of rambling there... OmegaApex Posted January 5, 2015 Report post Posted January 5, 2015 Maybe I missed it but I imported the task sequence and I don't need the bit locker stuff so I just disabled that for now but I see the apply operating system and choose windows 8.1 but how do you reinstall windows 7 or 8? Right now it would only reinstall as Windows 8? Do you create a frontend hta for Windows 7 and one for Windows 8 and advertise those to specific os collections?
