Are Boundary Groups Mandatory?

Recommended Posts

hello All,

our client computers are receiving the O% download error on their Software Center page (Windows update is the download). A lot of the resolutions I am reading are related to the settings on the Boundary group. We are a small shop so 1 box is handling all SCCM roles for us, since we are just one 1 physical location I did not configure any boundaries or boundary groups.

Can this be the issue?

On my client the error in the LocationServices log shows " Calling back with empty distribution points"

The CAS log shows "Download request only, ignoring location update"

The client has access to the share where the Updates are being downloaded to.

Settings are set to download on slow network connection

So, do I need to configure a boundary group to resolve the 0% download message?

Thanks!

Yes this will be the issue.

Create a boundary that will cover your IP range or subnet or just add in the AD site.

Once your boundary is created, create a boundary group and put the boundary in it.

In Configuration Manager 2012 the boundary must reside inside a boundary group.
