adding more computers to the deployment task once it has been started

Recommended Posts

Dear all,

I have created a task to deploy a package to a collection (Staff PCs) which has 10 computers. The task has already completed successfully installing the application to these 10 computers; I need to add another 5 computers to this task.

If I add these 5 PCs to the same collection (Staff PCs), will the task run on these 5 PCs ?

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you

do you mean you created a task sequence and deployed it to the collection or you deployed a package to the collection or you deployed an application to the collection

either way, as long as the deployment settings don't somehow exclude the new computers, then they should also get the package once added to the collection.

thank you

I have created a package (Foxit Reader) >> then deployed it to the collection called (Staff PCs) which has 10 computers.

either way, as long as the deployment settings don't somehow exclude the new computers, then they should also get the package once added to the collection.

So if I add those 5 computers to the same collection, they should be deployed with the above package.

If I re-deploy the same package to the same collection (after adding 5 computers), will it re-install the package (Foxit Reader) on the 10 computer aswell ?

it all depends on your applications detection method as to whether it will redeploy or not on those systems that already have it, so why are you using the legacy package model instead of the application model
