Distribution Points

Recommended Posts

Good Morning all,

We have our SCCM primary site sitting in London but have 2 distribution points set-up in another site in London and in Boston US. Now when users in Boston attempt to build a machine they notice it takes rather a long time i.e. over 12 hours to get the OS image installed. So we looked at the logs and it appears to be calling the data from our London DP. Now we definitely have the content distributed to our Boston DP but according to the logs it's not using the right DP to push down the data.

I'm guessing this is obvious but is there any way I can make sure the Boston DP is the main point for them when it comes to building their machines?

Apologies if this is a bit of a numpty question! :)

Cheers

Dan

a few things to check, have you configured your boundaries correctly and is 'Allow fallback source for content location' selected in the boundary groups tab of your distribution point(s), and have you verified (validated) that the content in question is infact on the nearest distribution point ?

perfect, thank you! The Boston DP was on a new subnet which meant the IP range wasn't in scope in the default site boundary group. D'oh...I've added that in she now builds in double quick time.

appreciate the help. thanks alot.
