zoomzoomjongmin Posted February 18, 2015 Report post Posted February 18, 2015 Hello everyone, My Database administrator pinged me about unusual number of connections from SCCM 2012(Primary Site server and no other SCCM servers) to a remote SQL server (Site System Server). DBA would reset the connection or restart the server to reset the connection count but it slowly accumulates up to 100. Looking at PIDs, all the connections are consists of smsexec.exe and wmiprvse.exe Using Processmonitor, I am noticing 'Process Profiling' for PID wmiprvse.exe with success result I am also checking eventviewer on both SCCM and SQL servers to see if I can spot any warning or errors but they all seem NORMAL but my DBA seems the connection number is TOO high. To give you an idea, we have close to 600 nodes being managed by SCCM 2012 and we don't have crazy number of deployments going on at the moment so it really should be average clients reporting back to SCCM server every 2 hours or so.. Is the connection too high? 100? it doesn't seem to be taking up much resources anyway but I wanted to know what your connection count is from your SCCM to SQL server when running netstat -ao Thank you in advance,
