fcruz2489 Posted March 2, 2015 Report post Posted March 2, 2015 Hi Everyone, I have a strange issue that i have been researching and i cant seem to find an answer. I have a 64-bit Windows 7 OSD Task Sequence that i rebuilt in CM 12 based off of an existing SCCM 2007 OSD TS. The OSD works perfectly, for the most part, on numerous machines but it seems that on one specific model of computer we have, it fails half way. On a HP Elitebook 820 G1 model laptops the OSD fails and gives the error: "Windows could not parse of process the unattend answer file for pass [specialize]. The settings specified in the answer file cannot be applied. The error was detected while processing settings for component [Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup]" Once that error comes up the OSD fails and it needs to be started from scratch (from boot media). the second time we image the same exact system it works perfectly with no error at all. This ONLY happens with the HP 820 G1 laptops but we have a number of other model HP laptops that we image without this issue. I believe all of the drivers are loaded correctly because when the laptop is done imaging the only thing missing is the finger print reader driver, which we dont enable anyway. I dont think this issue existed in our SCCM 2007 OSD TS with this model laptop either. I am all out of ideas and cant find any other suggestions online. I dont have the command prompt enabled in windows PE so i cant pull the error log from the panther folder but if no one has any suggestions that will be my next step. ANY ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!
fcruz2489 Posted May 1, 2015 Report post Posted May 1, 2015 It sucks that no one has any idea what is happening here and i still havent been able to figure out the issue but i just discovered something that may be a breakthrough. This only happens when the computer i am imaging has an SSD installed, whenever the same model of computer has a hard drive, it runs perfectly on the first try. Does that new piece of information give anyone the ability to help me out please? Thanks
