syparon Posted March 25, 2015 Report post Posted March 25, 2015 Gents, Do you konw if there is a way to configure the client settings so as to block application and package deployment and only allow software updates deployment ? I would like to deploy this client on servers in order to be sure that no applications can be install by mistakes. Sypa
GarthMJ Posted March 25, 2015 Report post Posted March 25, 2015 Use Maintenance windows to block the deployment of software. Keep in mind that this will NOT stop an administrator from manually installing software.

Do you mean that the application will be ready in software center but if an admin click on Install. It will procceed ?

GarthMJ Posted March 25, 2015 Report post Posted March 25, 2015 No the assumption is that an administrator knows exactly when the best time is to install and application. However you can get fancy and use the app model to no install on servers or no allow the app to install on server OS but IMO why care... If an administrator install the application and reboot the server, why should you care?
