jlbrandt Posted April 2, 2015 Report post Posted April 2, 2015 Hello! I directed an OS Deployment at all computers instead of all unknown computers and now all of our clients are being prompted to install the OS. In my haste I deleted the OS before I removed it as a deployment and cannot find an option now to delete the advertisement. I have tried to resend all the deployment information to the Distribution points to prompt SCCM to stop advertising the OS. I attached screenshots for some clarification, one that displays the advertisements on client computers, one that shows that the operating system isn't listed in my OS list anymore, and the last that shows the OS is no longer in our Deployments. I am reaching out now for additional help on how to remove this Advertisement. Thanks.
Peter van der Woude Posted April 2, 2015 Report post Posted April 2, 2015 When you removed the deployment of the task sequence, update de machine policy on the client and the deployment should go away.
jlbrandt Posted April 2, 2015 Report post Posted April 2, 2015 I haven't been able to find instructions on how to update machine policy, would you be able to provide a good option? On my local machine I went to Control Panel > Configuration Manager> Actions> Machine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle and was still receiving the advertisement. There are a couple hundred clients receiving this advertisement, is there a way to push a policy update from SCCM to all the machines? Thanks
Ath3na Posted April 2, 2015 Report post Posted April 2, 2015 The client devices will update machine policy by default every 60 minutes. Doing the machine policy evaluation cycle that you just ran forces it to run now. You can also use the Now Micro Right Click Tools which are free to force a collection to update policy. jlbrandt Posted April 2, 2015 Report post Posted April 2, 2015 So if the policy has been updating and the advertisement is still there would the OS still exist somewhere to keep being advertised? Its been about a month since I sent it out.

jlbrandt Posted April 3, 2015 Report post Posted April 3, 2015 I Am still at a loss. I tried all the Client Updates that I could Client Side and none of them cleared the prompt for download. When I attempt to install the software it fails but does create in the log a file location of BHG00EE and BHG00ED that do not exist in the file system on the server. Is there a way to restore those files then expire the deployment? Or is there some log that would show me what location holds this advertisement to remove it? Iroqouiz Posted April 21, 2015 Report post Posted April 21, 2015 Go to Software Library - Operating System - Task Sequences. Left click the OS task sequence and choose the Deployments tab on the menu that appears. Is the TS still deployed to a collection there? Post another screenshot.
