It works, because it already finished the step of building your OS.

It errored in the step Setup windows and ConfigMgr on

[LOG[Executing command line: "\\DCO000X.CLIPX.LOCAL.COM\SMSPKGD$\CLX00008\SOURCES\SETUP.EXE" "/unattend:C:\_SMSTaskSequence\unattend.xml" /noreboot]LOG]!><time="10:01:07.932+-120" date="09-18-2009" component="OSDSetupWindows" context="" type="1" thread="492" file="commandline.cpp:805">
<![LOG[Process completed with exit code 31]LOG]

Check the package CLX00008

Okay. Thanks

CLX00008 = (Boot Images Vista) i dont see any wrong configurations. There is just which Version of Vista he take (Business) and where the boot.wim is on the server (f.e \\dco000x\captures\Vista_Images is selected" the boot.wim is in that subdirectory i selected. otherwise nothing :S

What could be wrong in it ?

-->

now i tested the Installed Client OS - its funny, in the Task Sequence i told him to Install the whole OS on C:\ - but i just got a D:\ where the OS is.

Im really suprised about that problems i have...

This is because you are trying to deploy a original wim file. If you capture your own wim file it will install on C:\

I havent had the time to digg to hard in the logfiles, but i would proberbly try removing the cd key from the task sequence (error 31 in smsts.log usually happens because of a bad key). I allso noticed that it is having problems with a few .inf files. Only apply the most important drivers (nic), and try again.

hmmm whats about the error 0x0000004 can i do something ?

EDIT : i tried without serial but nothing happend except the window openned to paste the serial in (but i dont want that - have to be installed automaticaly so i have to fill the serial in in the task sequence)

Just that error 0x00004 but after restarting, sus and softwaredist. works so just that error n everything will be okay :)
