SCCMtryhard Posted June 16, 2015 Report post Posted June 16, 2015 I have some questions about one check box in particular. I'm talking about the check box "Commit changes at deadline or during a maintenance window (requires restart) Below it says "If this option is not selected, content will be applied on the overlay and committed later." What is the overlay? Is the overlay specified somewhere as between 2 different times and if so where do you specify that? Does the overlay mean during a time where SCCM isn't that active? Is the overlay another word for maintenance window? If overlay just means later what time will it wait for? If you don't check it that seems to imply that the changes won't be committed at deadline or during a maintenance window so what time would that be? Second question, it says (requires restart) at the end but when use that check box it does not require a restart so why does it say it requires it? Peter van der Woude Posted June 16, 2015 Report post Posted June 16, 2015 Overlay is related to write filters. That settings is only applicable to Windows Embedded devices.

Are you saying that if I deploy software to Windows computers, like Acrobat or MS Project that check box essentially does not do anything?
