CraigSCCM Posted July 6, 2015 Report post Posted July 6, 2015 Hi guys, I have a question i'm hoping someone can help me please Can you build a machine with Windows 8.1, enable the Hyper-V Feature and build a Windows 7 VM? Doing this all through the task sequence, which will need to be rolled out for 500 Machines, having both Operating Systems on the domain and a it gives a unique computer name (for the Windows VM) Is this possible all through SCCM?? Thank you
anyweb Posted July 6, 2015 Report post Posted July 6, 2015 Can you build a machine with Windows 8.1, enable the Hyper-V Feature and build a Windows 7 VM? yes of course, but how you build that windows 7 vm is what you have to decide, do it manually (not a good idea), do it automated using MDT 2013 (recommended) or use Configuration Manager 2012 to build it, (recommeded provided that you have that infrastructure in place)

h4x0r Posted July 9, 2015 Report post Posted July 9, 2015 You could also script the creation through powershell, and just run that script as a step in your TS. Unfortunately, I don't use PS for my VM creation, so I can't give you any specific pointers there...but google is your friend
