Capture Windows 7 wim file

Dear reader.

 

I am currently working on capturing my .wim file, starting the capture task sequence and let the wim file being captured all going fine.

At the end the windows installation is in the OOB setup and there is no .wim file in the UNC path I provided, no error, nothing.

 

Followed the guide you have being setup, after capturing the image the system is rebooted into the OOB wizard.

-Running sysprep

-System reboots into below screenshoot.

-Scanning volume then capturing.

-Reboot into OOB wizard.

 

 

-SCCM 2012.

-Windows 7 Enterprise edition.

-Procedure worked before, this is a new image including new updates. no changes has being made to the environment.

-The account I use to export the .wim file has admin rights on the unc share.

 

What can I do to troubleshoot this issues, the log files are erased during the capture progress.

press F8 when capturing (that way it won't reboot)

 

then grab the smsts.log file probably in X:\windows\temp\smstslog\

you are missing nic drivers in winpe as is evident by the lack of network

add network drivers for the nic to winpe and try again.

if you were using a hyperV vm you wouldn't have to worry about this problem.

Thanks for the reply, I use a VMware workstation to build and capture the wim file.

I see that the log indicates the follow:

As I monitored the logs I see the following line:

This is NOT the location I provided in the capture sequence. (Capture the Reference Machine destination field)

Where is the location being provided outside the task sequence?
