AT11 Posted September 24, 2015 Report post Posted September 24, 2015 I have a scenario, where we have a CAS and 2 primary sites (A & B under the CAS. Will all the systems reporting as SCCM clients to primary site A, also show in the console for primary site B (though their assignation will be to primary site A) (based on the global data\site data logic under SQL replication)? AT11 Posted September 24, 2015 Report post Posted September 24, 2015 I need to figure out a method to re-assign clients assigned to Primary Site A in case CAS and Primary site A goes down at the same time.
GarthMJ Posted September 24, 2015 Report post Posted September 24, 2015 Having two primary sites will NOT help you within a DR situation. You should restore the site. Do you have over 150,000 client's, if not you should one have a single primary site.
AT11 Posted September 24, 2015 Report post Posted September 24, 2015 Is it possible to re-assign clients from one primary server A to alternate primary server B, in case Primary server A is unavailable?
GarthMJ Posted September 24, 2015 Report post Posted September 24, 2015 It is not practical. As you change the boundaries first but the site server is down. so... Even if you can do it, it would take days to fully, migrate all clients to the other primary site. At this point you might as well re-build your broken site or create a whole new site. NickolajA Posted September 25, 2015 Report post Posted September 25, 2015 I agree with Garth. Having a hierarchy with CAS and several Primary Sites was never intended for DR scenarios.
