Help with USMT

Hi Guys,

I'm needing a bit of help getting USMT working with OSD. I'm having a few issues in that USMT doesn't seem to work. There's no error messages or anything like that. It just doesn't load user data (I'm testing with background images and folders saved to the desktop). Are there any best practice guides etc for getting USMT working in an OSD Task Sequence? I can't seem to find it anywhere online.

 

OSD seems to be working well, and it seems like the data for USMT is being copied to my SCCM server, as I can see the drive filling up (dedicated USMT drive), but obviously something is happening when it restores the data.

 

When creating the task sequence, I've just let SCCM create the generic Image deployment TS, which has USMT jobs already listed.

Guys?? Surely there must be someone who knows how to use USMT with the State Migration Point (sccm 2012). I've checked online and there's literally nothing on how to set this up correcltly and to ensure it's all working.

I would start by checking the logs. Check smsts.log for general failures, or skipping of the steps and check scanstate.log and loadstate.log for information about the capture and restore.
