nhottinger Posted December 10, 2015 Report post Posted December 10, 2015 We received a large number of Inspiron 17 5000 series laptops for our hospital nurses. When trying to image them I'm getting a blue screen (attached). Any ideas how to get around this?
Jaybone Posted January 7, 2016 Report post Posted January 7, 2016 Looks like one we were seeing that came from a bad HDC driver. Config Manager was picking a newer, "better" version of the driver these systems (Dell Optiplex 7010) needed from a driver package recently added for some new hardware (Lenovo T440) during the Auto Apply Drivers step. It obviously wasn't a good pick, as it caused the Optiplexes to BSOD. Solved it by ditching the Auto Apply step (except as a last resort), and instead set our task sequences to install driver packages matching the hardware, based on conditions.
nhottinger Posted January 18, 2016 Report post Posted January 18, 2016 Thanks Jaybone. I did get it resolved by creating a new boot.wim and only including drivers I needed. We already use separate driver packs (no auto apply drivers) so that wasn't our issue.
Jaybone Posted January 29, 2016 Report post Posted January 29, 2016 Ahhh, didn't realize you meant that the bluescreen was happening in WinPE.
