Configuration Manager 1511

Recommended Posts

Apparently Microsoft suggests that we don't install 1511 if we're using ADK 10 with boot images 10.1.10586.0...

By installing the first version I'll avoid issues, but... does anyone has a workaround to the issue?

the issue with the older Windows 10 ADK is that powershell scripts might fail in WinPE, the workaround is don't use PowerShell scripts in WinPE until a newer ADK fixes that and the newer refresh issue,

actually the newer ADK fixes the PowerShell issue but introduced a refresh issue, so it's safer to use the older adk 10.

Actually I was reading one post - about how to build a task sequence that upgrades from win7/8 to Win10... Would be this an example that will not work?

that task sequence is for Configuration Manager 2012 R2, the same functionality (and better) is built into Configuration Manager Current Branch (version 1511),

Another question, but this time about licensing...

I want to download the ConfigMgr 1511 but I can only do it from MSDN, Microsoft Evaluation Center and Volume Licensing Service Center.

If you download and install ConfigMgr over my current lab (which is R2 with SP1 (CU2)), will this product return to "evaluation" or can I keep my key and use it with this version?
