subzy Posted January 19, 2016 Report post Posted January 19, 2016 Hi Apologies if this question has already been answered. We are currently on sccm 2012 r2 version 5.0.7958.1000 and would like to upgrade to the latest version SP1 CU2. I understand that we first need to upgrade to SP1 and then CU2 but my questions was can you run these upgrades one after the other straight away? The reason being so that the clients upgrade to the latest version rather than having to be upgraded twice. Would there be any potential issues doing it this way? Thanks
anyweb Posted January 19, 2016 Report post Posted January 19, 2016 I would go from R2 > CU5 > R2SP1 > R2SP1CU2 I've a guide for most of it here.

killiandw Posted January 27, 2016 Report post Posted January 27, 2016 I would go from R2 > CU5 > R2SP1 > R2SP1CU2 I've a guide for most of it here. Any reason for that order. I assume all updates from CU5 would be in SP1.
anyweb Posted January 27, 2016 Report post Posted January 27, 2016 yep, if you read the post there were some instances where CU5 was needed to be installed before SP1
KeithDib Posted January 28, 2016 Report post Posted January 28, 2016 Can I ask.. We are currently on version 5.0.7804.1000 To upgrade are you saying to forget the CU1, CU2 etc and jump straight to R2 SP1, then upgrade from here? KeithDib Posted January 28, 2016 Report post Posted January 28, 2016 We are 5.00.7804.1000, 2012 SP1 R2 would be 5.00.7958.1000
anyweb Posted January 28, 2016 Report post Posted January 28, 2016 so for those of you who are not on R2 it would be something like this 2012 SP1 CU5 > 2012 SP2 > 2012 SP2 CU2 confusing, perhaps, here's some explanation hopefully https://www.niallbrady.com/2015/05/16/confused-about-the-system-center-2012-r2-configuration-manager-sp1-and-system-center-2012-configuration-manager-sp2/
