vincelewin Posted January 28, 2016 Report post Posted January 28, 2016 Hi All, I am hoping someone can help me. I recently upgraded my sccm server to 2012 R2 SP1 and now none of my task sequences complete, they put the image on, install drivers and install the Config Manager client but then it all stops. I have windows updates, application installs after the config manager client and they all fail. I have created a new task sequence to test with thinking maybe it was just affecting historic sequences but its affecting all. I don't know where to start with trouble shooting this and when I find logs on the client I don't know how to decipher the cryptic text. Can anyone help? dism.log smsts.log smsts-20160128-170943.log
Config Mangler Posted January 28, 2016 Report post Posted January 28, 2016 It's missing a lot of drivers so maybe not installing the NIC. From the larger SMSTS.log "Failed to find a suitable device driver for device 'Intel® PRO/1000 MT Network Connection" Is it joining the domain and do you have an IP address when it fails? vincelewin Posted January 28, 2016 Report post Posted January 28, 2016 Yeah when I go to control-alt-del it is joined to the domain and the computer account has been created in the OU I specified. I can login successfully. I have changed the order of the task sequence and put the config mgr client to the end, now it fails with an error. Lagamorph Posted February 2, 2016 Report post Posted February 2, 2016 I experienced a similar issue a while ago, but it was due to my using a Windows image that had been created from a Build & Capture, so already had the client installed, but I had put it into the task sequence to install the client again then do things like application installation and windows updates. If you try plugging in a new/fresh windows image ripped straight from an ISO again do you still get the same issue?
vincelewin Posted February 4, 2016 Report post Posted February 4, 2016 My problem was due to another administrator in my domain deleting the account I had configured SCCM to use. I recreated it and a whole host of issues dis-appeared.
