firstcom Posted January 29, 2016 Report post Posted January 29, 2016 I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to have a task sequence only execute a task if the task is happening over a network connection and not if it's being done via offline media? ZeZe Posted February 1, 2016 Report post Posted February 1, 2016 I guess not... What you can do is a script that will run from network location the installation of whatever you want, however I can't see any reason for that because if the content is not available the TS will fail... what is it that you want to accomplish? firstcom Posted February 1, 2016 Report post Posted February 1, 2016 Some of our applications pull things down when installed when a network connection is present. Otherwise it doesn't. So I'd like an easy way to differentiate when an image is happening over a network PXE or when it's offline media. I guess not... Peter van der Woude Posted February 1, 2016 Report post Posted February 1, 2016 If you mean a stand-alone media, that contains all the required content. That's the whole idea of that media. Are you using custom scripts that download additional stuff? If so, you can look at the _SMSTSLaunchMode task sequence variable, which contains the required information.
