KLS2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Report post Posted March 8, 2016 I've hit an unusual problem while attempting to upgrade to 1511 and I was wondering if anyone has seen something similar or has any suggestions. I'm going from SCCM 2012 R2 on a Windows Server 2012 R2 box. After doing all the recommended tests, taking backups etc and running the prerequisite check I can start the installation but then it fails during setup. Specifically it is failing during the file copy operation and the errors in the log suggest that it either can't find or access one or more of the source files. My copy of the ISO was downloaded from VLSC and I've tried it both with the ISO being mounted onto the vm and also after extracting the contents into a local directory. In both cases it always fails at the same point. NTFS permissions look okay, there's plenty of disk space and I've even tried downloading the ISO again in case it had somehow become corrupted. Unfortunately none of this makes a difference. I've been able to roll-back to the previous configuration, but I'd appreciate any suggestions from the wider community. Thanks! anyweb Posted March 8, 2016 Report post Posted March 8, 2016 did you have cmtrace open with a log file and was cmtrace opened from the source ? if so that's the cause solution, copy cmtrace elsewhere, run it from there and start the upgrade again... if not the above, then please post the file copy errors you are seeing.
