SCCM 07 and Windows 7

Has anyone gotten Windows 7 to show up on the computer collections? For some reason, I can't get it to show up.

do you have SCCM 2007 SP2 installed ?

 

you'll have to create a collection query for the windows 7 systems, like this..

 

select SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceID,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceType,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Name,SMS_R_SYSTEM.SMSUniqueIdentifier,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Client from sms_r_system where OperatingSystemNameandVersion like '%Workstation 6.1%'

How can I tell if I have Service Pack two installed.

 

The only indication that I have when looling at the properties from configmgr.

Type: Primary

Version: 4.00.6221.1000

R2 installed: No

Build Number: 6221

 

Does the R2 indicate service pack 2? I assumed is meant Release 2.

 

And, How do I go about creating a Collection Query?

I think I got the query thing. I copied and pasted it on the query statement. I called it WIndows7 Workstations. I refreshed Collections and I don't see it. Am i missing something?

based on your SCCM version info you are running SCCM 2007 SP1 without the R2 feature pack,

 

so...... consider upgrading to SP2 and then installing R2 then try again.
