Unable to boot into WindowsPE/TS

Hi,

For a while everything was working fine upgrading and fresh installs of Windows 10 (PXEBoot) until last night.

- I'm unable to boot into WinPE to select my TS from pxe boot

- it boots fine and get an ip from dhcp, but all i get after is cmd window with wpeinit (check screen shot below)

- I cant see my task sequence now or anything

- Upgrading from with in windows is fine.

Here's my setup:

1 DC with DHCP

1 SCCM server with all the roles + WSUS + WDS

I only have 1 boot image.

this is what happen when i try to boot: i receive and IP from dhcp but why is it says for TFTP : boot\x64\pxeboot.n12 ?? shouldn't it be smsboot\x64\wdsnbp !

And i don't even reach the point to enter a password for the task sequence. After the two screen above i go to the first screen shot i sent CMD - wpeinit

I got further now, when i added the right boot image to the WDS.

Now its booting to the right image and im getting to the sccm screen, but whats happening now is it gets to preparing network connection and than it reboots !!

if this was an actual laptop or desktop i will add drivers but im testing on a hyper v vm, what drivers do i need ?

Once it's in WinPE, in that command window, can you run ipconfig and see if you're actually getting an IP address?

One thing to remember is when u pxe boot, sccm will use the boot image that was last deployed.

 

Example, i create a windows 7 x86 task sequence with winpe x86 boot image assigned to it. I deploy this task sequence. When i next do a PXE boot, the winpe x86 image will fire up first. In most cases it wont matter as the boot image assigned to the task sequence will download anyway but sometimes it can be a bugger and cause issues.

 

Delete all yur task sequence deployments and deploy just ur windows 10 one (assuming thats the boot image u want to load). See if that works.
