blackhawkdown Posted September 2, 2016 Report post Posted September 2, 2016 Hi All, My first post here. Can't stress enough how much help I've had from all the posts on here. Have learned so much about SCCM just by reading these posts, thank you all. I'm trying to PXE boot a thin client device. It seems to PXE boot okay and gets to the "Windows is starting up" "Preparing network connection" stage but then it reboots. I have two identical devices by make and model, one will boot to the Task Sequence stage but the other has this problem I just described above. These are both Wyse Dell D90D7 Thin Clients. The troubled client gets an IP address so I'm pretty sure it isn't a network driver issue and I can ping the SCCM server. At this point are there any logs anyone would recommend I check? It just seems odd it would happen on one device but not the other even though they are seemingly no different, but who knows what hardware Dell put into these devices and whether or not it would be consistent. I've made sure the write-filter is disabled before attempting a PXE-Boot, not that this would make a difference anyway during WinPE boot. The host name doesn't exist in AD or SCCM and the task sequence has been deployed to all unknown computers. Any thoughts on this one? I'm guessing its a driver issue of some sort but it seems impossible to find individual drivers available for download for these devices. Wyse incorporates drivers into an image but that's all they seem to offer. I also checked the same drivers were installed on both devices and the versions were the same. Unfortunately I only have two devices so I'm not able to test this with any others. Thanks. P
Config Mangler Posted September 2, 2016 Report post Posted September 2, 2016 If they are identical hardware I'm guessing the one that works is on later firmware.
alewoodrum Posted September 2, 2016 Report post Posted September 2, 2016 I am experiencing the same problem now. I am running SCCM 2012 SP2 CU3 and it just fails loading the network drivers. I have been reading and it seems i need to uptade ADK. I am running windows boot 10.0.10586 and deploying windows 10 for education 1511. I am not sure if i need to update adk first and then apply a hotfix 3143760 or not.
