Config_Mgr_noob Posted December 23, 2016 Report post Posted December 23, 2016 Yes, I'm able to open and expand Tables within the SQL Server Management Studio. No errors from that.

anyweb Posted December 23, 2016 Report post Posted December 23, 2016 oooh and it's an Eval version, why are you using that ? maybe that is the cause of the errors ?
Config_Mgr_noob Posted December 23, 2016 Report post Posted December 23, 2016 Yeah I just spun up a server and used the a trial version of SQL to just test the DB. But if that could be the cause then would the Express still work even if the production DB is on a full version of SQL?
anyweb Posted December 24, 2016 Report post Posted December 24, 2016 can you please try with the full version of SQL to see what it says pls
Config_Mgr_noob Posted December 27, 2016 Report post Posted December 27, 2016 Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately, I do not have access to the production SQL server (and the adminsitrators are away) nor do have an available license to apply to the test SQL. Any other suggestions you might have to test out?
anyweb Posted December 27, 2016 Report post Posted December 27, 2016 I'm afraid not, i just checked this and... Central administration site and Primary sites: The site database must use a full install of SQL Server.
Config_Mgr_noob Posted December 27, 2016 Report post Posted December 27, 2016 Ok, I'll reach out to my sysadmin to see if we can perform the test upgrade on a production SQL server; I'll let you know what the outcome is. Thanks again for all your help and knowledge! Still the best
Config_Mgr_noob Posted January 13, 2017 Report post Posted January 13, 2017 Hey anyweb, we've attempted to do it on our production SQL server but was unable since it is hosting live SCCM database. Unfortunately, we do not have any other SQL box that is licensed to run this. I did, however, looked into the SCCM upgrade path here and found I was missing the CU4 (1501) update. I applied it and now have the version prior to the 1511. I ran the testdbupgrade and still the same error message. Any other thoughts you might have on my issue? I can upload you the ConfigMgrSetup.log and ConfigMgrPrereq.log if that'll help out?
