jeffrey.balagtas Posted January 13, 2017 Report post Posted January 13, 2017 Hi All, i would like to ask how to overwrite 1 file to specific folder location. ( i need to update the version of the file). Using msi file, SCCM 2012. For example: Path location is Drive C, with folder name "abc", inside the folder i need to overwrite the "123 file"
0 GarthMJ Posted January 13, 2017 Report post Posted January 13, 2017 Using msi file, SCCM 2012. What exactly do you mean by this? Assuming you have set this up within an MSI, it will overwrite file without issue.
0 jeffrey.balagtas Posted January 17, 2017 Report post Posted January 17, 2017 I recorded a smart packager (to overwrite the file). Actually, I'm on the testing deployment phase. My problem is, some of the workstation is not getting the updated file and some are not..
0 GarthMJ Posted January 17, 2017 Report post Posted January 17, 2017 You will have to review your log files to determine why that is.
0 g-fx Posted February 2, 2017 Report post Posted February 2, 2017 any reason your not using group policy preferences to do this? rather than create an msi
0 NullSID Posted February 18, 2017 Report post Posted February 18, 2017 Are you using this as an application deployed through sccm? What are you using for dependencies? I've done this before but it's all been scripted.
