I am new to packaging up install programs to MSI's and would like to know what everyone is using to create MSI's. I tried a free version, but it didn't deploy through SCCM and I wasn't sure if the issue was the program, my configuration, or something in my SCCM that was the issue.

I use EMCO MSI Package Builder Enterprise to build mine.

I have never had very good luck with those. The only one I have used is ORCA to modify the properties of an app. Most applications nowadays have either the standard MS switches or specific switches to install silently, noreboot etc. Is there a specific app you are having trouble with?

we use pace suite from infopulse, the easiest i've tried, great for newbies.

Adminstudio. You pay for it but x10 better than freeware ones out there.

It depends on what you want to do. Just make MSI's from exe-installations? EMCO is nice.

Want to make advanced installation packages, with a professional appearance...you would use AdminStudio. This is the preferred tool for professionals.. Here you can do everything
