Image Capture

Is it possible to use WDS to capture an image of a computer without syspreping it first? We want to use WDS to make images of lab production computers for backup purposes in case of hard drive failure or something like that. That way if the drive fails or we have some other problem we can put the image back intact and get the computer online as fast as possible. The hardware would not change other than maybe a different hard drive.

no it will fail (see step 4 here)

 

you could try capturing it using imagex instead though
