Clients started showing as Inactive

Over the past week or so I've had a ton of clients start showing up as inactive and I'm not too sure whats going on.  I can see from the local agent logs that the machines seem to request policy updates but, never actually check in. Does anyone have any ideas on where to start troubleshooting?  I'm running a fully patched CB 1610.

Yes MP is healthy.  There are clients that are connecting to it without a problem.  I took a look at it a bit further.  It seems the clients that are not connecting are on old client versions .1000 & .1007.  I'm going to focus trying to get those updated to see if that fixes the issue.
