A raimondi Posted April 22, 2017 Report post Posted April 22, 2017 Is it possible to deploy and install Firefox but delete the old program files\ mozilla Firefox folder before the installation ? I want to do this because of some bad configs put in before and if I just upgrade the bad config stays and we need a fresh install
Matty b Posted April 22, 2017 Report post Posted April 22, 2017 Run a sequence with a dependency to remove the previous install before installing the new copy version. If the uninstall isn't fully clean throw some powershell in between to remove the parts you need to.
A raimondi Posted April 24, 2017 Report post Posted April 24, 2017 Thank you I'll try doing a task sequence with the powershell to run before the install that should work right?

A raimondi Posted April 25, 2017 Report post Posted April 25, 2017 I cant anything to work.. This is what Ive done I packaged Firefox with SCCM using a install.bat to use mozilla.cfg , override.ini and local-settings.js files . i tested on a client before deploying and it works. I deployed with SCCM the files download to the ccmcache folder and the install starts but gets stuck on "downloading firefox" screen. Shows the progress bar moving but never actually starts or finishes
Peter33 Posted April 25, 2017 Report post Posted April 25, 2017 You could use the Firefox MSI from Frontmotion and create an MST file for the configuration settings. Works like a charm. Of course it will not effect existing settings in user profiles. http://www.frontmotion.com/firefox/
A raimondi Posted April 25, 2017 Report post Posted April 25, 2017 Will I be able to set the proxy ?
Peter33 Posted April 25, 2017 Report post Posted April 25, 2017 Sure, you can apply any setting available. But i would recommend to use the system proxy and define it via GPO.

Peter33 Posted April 25, 2017 Report post Posted April 25, 2017 You need an MSI Packaging program like Flexera AdminStudio or InstallShiled. There are also free programs like Orca, but they are not as user friendly and have of course less features. Personally i am using Wise Packaging from Symantec. But the product is discontinued for several years already and not longer available. It's still doing the trick though. Be aware that those programs are usually pretty expensive. We got 3 Licenses for like 7,5k Euros back then.
