Jepeto 46 Posted October 21, 2017 Report post Posted October 21, 2017 I have a project upgrading W7 to W10 in (very) remote sites where there is no network or any ability to use more then one USB drive, drivers must be formatted rather then hardlinks. Is it possible to create either an MDT or SCCM Media which will capture to the USB drive it runs from and restore from the same drive, all in one stroke? keilamym Posted October 21, 2017 Report post Posted October 21, 2017 We have created stand alone USMT script to backup and restore from drives via a gui interface. And you can image from a flash drive. BUT are you trying to have a sccm task backup the data, reimage, then restore, all from a single flash drive? Jepeto 46 Posted October 21, 2017 Report post Posted October 21, 2017 Yes, I would prefer to do that from a single stand alone USB drive. Are you able to share you script?
keilamym Posted October 21, 2017 Report post Posted October 21, 2017 I just read your other post. we don't do what your asking but it sound like it could help me a lot in my remote offices. in our SCCM task, we just send USMT data to our state migration point. this is something I'll probably be working on because I like the concept and once complete, I won't mind sharing it. Jepeto 46 Posted October 21, 2017 Report post Posted October 21, 2017 SMP is not an issue with the HQ, I have that integrated with an MDT TS, the issue is remote offices where I want no user interaction.
