unattended.xml package

Adding unattended.xml to my task sequence. I see it needs to be in a package but do you have to create a program or just have the package to the directory where the file is located?

 

I see you have to specify the file name so I presume you just create a package & no program.

Package and distribution point.

No program as far as I know, but I've never been able to get that unattend.xml file to work properly.

I just ended up using DISM to put the unattend.xml into the image.

unattended.xml is working but as per normal ive got issues with my regional settings. on XP when i added UK keyboard i then had to use a reg key fix to remove US keyboard as this always remained secondary. Got the same issue now with Win7.

Does the unattended.xml have to be unattended.xml or can you name it something else?

So, ive basicaly created my package to the folder where my xml file resides. In my TS on the 'Apply windows Settings' I have seleected to use my unattended package & sepcified the unattended.xml file.

 

ive added some more Location regional settings now to hopefuly get just Uk keyboard etc. When ive tried this boefore you get some bits UK some US & US keyboard remains default.

 

in XP at T-12(cmdlines.txt) I had to remove this reg ket to remove the US keyboard

Ive applied this answer file to the build & capture & the following deployment & both seem to ignor the answer file. I did read somewhere else that the answer files is not very reliable run in sccm.

hey Guys, firstly just want to thanks!!! great site for SCCCM stuff....

has anyone cracked this yet as I have this same issue with answer file with windows 7.. it doesn't set regioanl settings etc and normally the TS fails if I set this in the task sequence.... unnatend.xml
