side-by-side migration of my old computers to a new configuration(XP to XP)a

Question

Hi,

I am doing side-by-side migration of my old computers to a new configuration(XP to XP).My environment runs in Server 2K8/SCCM SP1 R2/MDT 2008.Created a CA with source and destination machine names.Created a TS with Capture User State and Request State Store(location to store the captured user state) and advertised it on to collection.Waited for long time ,trigged the machine policy and ,it doesnt happen at all on the client side.Verified that ,everything is running fine with the client.do i need have any setting or any custom actions in Task Sequence.

Thanks!

Eswar.

(Sorry about using the same topic)

I'm having problems too about using Task Sequences...

I have the same scenario, I'm using WServer 2k8-SP2, SCCM 2007-SP2 (I can deploy packages), WDS (I can deploy images through PXE)!

Do I need MDT to put Task-Sequences working?

I want to use USMT to import profiles to a bare metal machine by using task sequences, is this possible?

I'm I missing a prerequisite?

Best Regards,

JC.
