client always install and more

Question

hi,

first of all, many thanks for this website. A lot of work has been done to help people like me to enter is the world SCCM.

so here is my problems (dont laught coz i'm french and newbee)

i have followed all the guides to configure my sscm server (vmware : server 2008 R2, SQL 2008 SP1, SCCM 2007 R2 with SP1) but i have the following problems :

SCCM client is always installing/removing (each minute, as discovery methods are set to 1 minute) and i dont know how to install it only once ?

i'm unable to push the install on a win7 machine (wbemtest is ok) and the machine is in the all systems collection

the status for all my XP installed machine are the same, assigned YES and Client No

i've just changed discovery method to 1 hour and no more SMSadmin connection to my PC (may be the 1 minute setting is too short and thats why the install/removal looped ?)

The AD schema is not extended, is this important ?

sorry for posting in live (meaning without order) but i'm totaly lost.

hope a good soul will help me.

many thanks in advance for all your valuable help

cheers

you need sccm 2007 sp2 to properly support Windows 7,

as regards the client installing and uninstalling how are you pushing the client out ? can you please include the ccmsetup logs from a client with the problem ? is the firewall disabled (for testing) on the XP client ?

hi,

sorry,

the version installed is SW_DVD5_Sys_Ctr_Config_Mgr_Svr_2007_English_CM_wSP2_MLF_X16-16578.ISO

the problem with the client install/removal has left (the 1 minute discovery methods was not enough)

i still have the problem with win7 not installing client and the flag set to No for client (in the collection window/all windows xp systems)

firewall are disable in both side

looking at the client logs, i have installed the fallback role and now there is no more error message about it

the life is so hard when you dunno exactly what you do ! ! !

hi,

here is the status today :

all my winxp client are in french. when swapping operating system language the sccm client languate change according to the one i have chosen, good.

I have always issue with pushed install on win7 machines (manual install from the console works).

i have looked at the sccm log and i have notice that SCCM try to install its client to some machine i have removed from my sccm test group in the AD ?

i suppose there is traces in the database but i have also delete these pc from the colletion (so, if i have well understood, their records are removed from the DB)

Someone may help me to understand whats wrong.

thank you in advance

cheers
