PXE Boot and Import winpe.wim Problem

Question

Good Morning Guys,

i got 2 problems.

1. When i try to import the WinPe Boot Image (winpe.wim), a error appears and say that i have no read/write Access, but i have Full-Access.

2. When i try to deploy Win7 with PXE, WinPe loads and then the Client reboot. I know this could be a NIC-Driver Problem, but how can i add the NIC Driver to the boot.wim?

I'm a SCCM 2007 Beginner and i hope you can help me. Thanks!

Systeminformation:

3 Server (VMs)

1 W2k3 - DC

1 W2k3 - SQL //SQL Server 2005

1 W2k3 - SCCM //SCCM 2007 - SP2

Client is a physical Machine (HP Notebook).

why are you trying to import a winpe image ? and to import the nic drivers you need the windows 7 network drivers for the notebook in question,

once you have them, select your boot image in the OSD node of configmgr, click on drivers and add the driver there, distribute it to a dp, once done, import that driver into your boot image by right clicking on the boot image, choose the windows PE tab, select the driver

cheers

Thank you for the fast answer!

1) I thought in winpe.wim are the Windows PE boot environment for SCCM 6.1.7100.0 en-US Boot Images? Or where is the right wim-file?

2) Thanks, i'll try it :)

Best Regards

steve
