jeaostro Posted March 1, 2010 Report post Posted March 1, 2010 Hello Are there any special steps that need to be done if SCCM and MDT2010 are on different servers? SCCM 2007 SP2 on one server, and MDT2010 on another server? Like WAIK needs to be installed on the MDT2010 server as well? Will this work at all? Can we use a SCCM MDT deployment task if the MDT2010 is located on another server? Thanks for the response.
jeaostro Posted March 1, 2010 Report post Posted March 1, 2010 Also if this works, will there be any limitations?
Peter van der Woude Posted March 1, 2010 Report post Posted March 1, 2010 Why would you want to seperate SCCM and MDT???? Besides that you need to install MDT locally to be able to make the integration with SCCM.
jeaostro Posted March 1, 2010 Report post Posted March 1, 2010 running out of space on the sccm server, so was just wondering if this was a quick and easy solution, so we can test MDT. After installing MDT, you run the MDT "configuration" and there you enter the SCCM console server and site code. Wont this integrate the MDT with SCCM? Or do we need to run it on the same server to integrate? Cant integrate to a remote server? But then i know Thanks!
Peter van der Woude Posted March 1, 2010 Report post Posted March 1, 2010 What you could do is installing the SCCM Console on the MDT Server and then create the integration. Its probebly only going to be complicated when creating a MDT Task Sequence in SCCM and the Task Sequence wants to create some MDT packages...
