SCCM and third party patching

Question

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum; I joined to get a better understanding of what is out there to patch servers and workstations.

I'm hearing a lot of good information about SCCM, but i'm getting some reports that it can be very time consuming to do third party patching, such as ADOBE, Firefox and so on because you have to build packages.

I've heard of some other products that claim to provide them either for free or on a subscription base. The one I'm looking at is Shavlik's SCUPdates www.shavlik.com/scupdates.aspx

Has anyone used a product like this? Do you have any feedback for me?

Thanks again.

Tom
