Stamp Registry with TS Variables

First of all...thank you for such a great site. I get a lot of great information from it.

 

We currently have a working deployment of XP, Win7 32-bit and 64-bit. We would like to improve on what we have. What I want to do is stamp the registry HKLM\Software\CompanyName with select Task Sequence Variables.

 

Specifically I would like to create a new string value named Technician and a value of the OSDJoinAccount variable.

 

I'm sure this is very easy but I'm just running into road blocks with the different methods I have tried.

 

Any help would be very appreciated. Thank you.

MDT uses the ztitatoo script to do something very similar, have you looked into that and looked into integrating mdt into sccm ?

Thanks for the reply anyweb. Yes, we have integrated MDT with SCCM but I didn't know it had this capability. I will work on get the ZTITatoo script added to hopefully fill this need. I will post back if I have any questions.

I apologize ahead of time if this is a stupid question as I have no scripting skills. I am using ZTITatoo.wsf and I'm getting this error:

 

ZTITatoo.wsf(22, 2) Microsoft VBScript runtime error: Variable is undefined: 'RunNewInstance'

 

I find RunNewInstance in the ZTITatoo.wsf file and it shows as:

 

Option Explicit

RunNewInstance

 

Do I have to edit this file in any way to get it to work out of the box? Thanks again for any help.

have you included in your ts to do a use of the mdt source package and then a gather?

What I did was create a package for the MDT scripts and then added a "Run Command Line" to my TS with the command line for the ZTITatoo.wsf script. I was able to get it work with the ZTITatoo.wsf file from MDT 2008. I just had to modify the OSD Variables so they are in line with what I wanted to capture.

 

At least I got it to work. Thanks for the help and pointing me in the right direction.
