ADB

TS for capturing

Question

I've tried the modified xml of Anyweb's but didnt work out.

after having run sysprep in OOBE and Shut down Mode I should capture the reference machine.

My question: Are there any spezial modifications (beside the workgourp joining and the blank Admin Password) in the TS to capture an allready setup windows 7 OS with Applications in it?

Do I have to install the ConfigMgr Client on the reference machine to capture it?

Would be grateful for any inputs here...

----allright---

Just one more question (because I can't handle it, doing things without knowing why...)

The registry entries, that we have to change into our own Admin Password, are they in the regedit of the SCCM machine?

I see you used a Windows registry Editor. The DefaultUserName and -Password have to be added manually in the Winlogon registry?

THANKS SOOO MUCH Niall!!!

the regedit happens on the CLIENT not on the SERVER,it allows us to autologin so that we can reboot/capture...

the autologin package will do this automagically

no, do this while the computer is logged on in windows,

in the RAP (run advertised programs) select your Capture task sequence

it will apply the autologin, remove from domain, reboot, prepare configmgr, and capture the os

Sorry Nial but I am starting to get a bit confused...

I don't have to run the ccmsetup.exe?

Where Do I find the RAP? on the reference?

The Capture TS got the autologin_enable Program allready involved in the Autologin via registry Task

I hope the automagicle .xml will do its magic

OK. I do not find any "run advertised programs" on my W7.

on the "intsall a program from the network" the table has no items in it.

I probably have to add this reference machine's identity with a file to "inventory" it by SMS (I acutally created it with the MAC-Adress)

I'll google this and hopefully I'll sort it out.

THANKS a lot again Niall

greetings to Sweden...

Oh! My! God!

I don't know what I did wrong. I just can't run the advertised program on the reference!

the ccmsetup.log says: <![LOG[Can't connect to or retrieve file: http://WINSRV2008R2.SERVICE.TEST/CCM_Client/ccmsetup.cab. Will attempt a retry...]LOG]!

and other things like "failed to send HTTP request"

I properly configured the DHCP and DNS with forwarders and reverses. I dont get it why my reference tries to download from the WINSRV2008R2 (DHCP, AD DS and DNS) machine, while the SCCM with the PSP (and WDS) is on another machine.

when I replace that server with the SCCM server it sais Server Error 500 (Problem with the resources)

and I also followed this thread with Updating and everything.(but it's an one-year-old one)

My hair is growing grey (well, i find it attracitve but still...)

Is there anything particular with the DHCP or DNS to configure?

I'll continue on this issue this evening, need a brake
